Dick Raymond, Owner and Director

Dick, Owner & Director
Dick Raymond Owner and Director of Premier Dance Started dancing in the mid 60’s. He has attained a Dual Fellow in Dance, teaching both the American and the International styles of dance. Mr. Raymond has made several television appearances including the Merv Griffin Show. He has judged many major dance competitions around the United States and has been a coach to both students and professionals through the years. Having won many dance competitions in smooth and Rhythm dances he holds several top teacher awards. Having owned five studios throughout his career, he is very happy to bring his professionally trained staff to the Cary area. Looking forward to meeting and making new friends, he invites you to come in and visit his beautifully designed studio which has a fabulous floating floor.

Tijana, Instructor
Tijana Humphreys was born in Serbia, ex Yugoslavia where she studied dance at a very early age. She started performing on stage at the age of seven, and at the age of eighteen, she moved to Portugal and became part of the Lisbon Players Theatre where she performed in many stage productions, such as Beggars Opera and Thurber’s Carnival. In early 1992, she moved to Bruxells, Belgium where she studied dance at the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts. While in Belgium Tijana was part of AnkArte, a modern dance and art company, until coming to USA in 1994. Tijana began teaching Ballroom dance in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1995. While in Albuquerque, she competed in the five American Style Dances. Teaching Ballroom became the final stage in her dance career. Tijana has been teaching dance for over 16 years and she continues to teach and perform today at Premier Dance Studio in Cary.

Karen, Instructor
Karen Biard started dancing in 2003 and has trained with world class trainers in the American style dancing. Karen has won numerous dance competitions throughout her career around the country and has been named top competitor in many. Among her dance achievements, Karen also has a successful career in her Interior Decorating business under Faux Fantastik Interiors. Her love for dance inspires her students to become all that they can be and invites you to stop by and meet her at Premier Dance.

Daniel, Instructor
Daniel has been dancing argentine tango and linyhop for 8 years, salsa and ballroom for 6 years, and teaching dance professionally for over 5 years. His dancing style has been recognized for its powerful moves, crisp accuracy, and creative musicality. As a result of his unique style and movement quality on the dance floor, Daniel has been recognized in regional competitions, placing at competitions at Lindy Focus, the Atlanta Varsity Showdown, Boston Tea Party, and Carolina Groove. He has an amazing talent for teaching dance, being able to break moves down into pieces that dancers of all levels can understand, and having the unique ability to gauge his lessons to correspond to the level of his students.
